Be it any case now it’s quite easy to build a new vanity yourself which you can adorn for years to come. The bathroom vanity comes in different patterns and designs today. Select the one you want to decorate your bathroom with and get started with the installation. The installation includes nine main steps.
• Shut off the water: First of all turn off the water and disconnect the supply lines. Place a bucket to gather the water that drips from supply lines and p-trap.
• Remove the countertop: With the help of a utility knife loosen the caulk between the vanity and the wall. Then remove the countertop carefully to prevent the wall damages.
• Remove the old vanity: Loose and remove the screws that fasten the vanity to the wall. Use a cordless screwdriver for this step.
• Get the Studs and Position the Vanity: Situate the wall studs and mark them higher than the new vanity top. Then get the placement for the new vanity’s screw holes. Place the vanity in place.
• Install a New Faucet: Get a new faucet installed as per the instructions of the manufacturer. It will give a new look to the bathroom as is helpful in the future.
• Attach the Vanity to the Wall: As soon as the vanity is positioned properly lock it with the screws.
• Secure the Vanity top: Place a tub and tile caulk along the top edges of the vanity base. Carefully place the Vanity top on the top of vanity.
• Reconnect the Plumbing: Now reconnect the plumbing and replace the old with new p-trap. To build a tighter and easier connections use a plumber’s tape (Teflon Tape).
• Secure the Vanity top: Place a tub and tile caulk along the top edges of the vanity base. Carefully place the Vanity top on the top of vanity.
• Reconnect the Plumbing: Now reconnect the plumbing and replace the old with new p-trap. To build a tighter and easier connections use a plumber’s tape (Teflon Tape).
• Final job: Apply a thin bead of caulk around the countertop edges carefully. Evenly apply the caulk without the smudging. Make use of your fingertip or a damp rag to make the application smooth.
